Anger and mental health

Feelings of being stuck in life, could mean that we are experiencing as what psychotherapist Satya Doyle Brock terms a "tug-of-war" between two conflicting desires, meaning and stability in our quarter-life, which is a term used to describe the developmental stage between adolescence and midlife.


"A person might both want to live the single life and also long to be married with children," Byock says. "When you're feeling pulled apart by two opposing desires, it's confusing to know how to step forward."

Anger and mental health

Feelings of anger arise due to how we interpret and react to certain situations. Everyone has their own triggers for what makes them angry, but some common ones include situations in which we feel;

  • threatened or attacked
  • frustrated or powerless
  • like we're being invalidated or treated unfairly
  • like people are not respecting our feelings or possessions
